Volunteer Fire Fighter - Port Colborne Fire & Emergency Services

The City of Port Colborne is seeking energetic and dedicated individuals who would like to join our team and give back to the community as a Volunteer Fire Fighter. 

Applicants shall:

·        Have a minimum of Grade 12 education or approved equivalent

·        Be able to pass a written aptitude test

·        Be able to pass a Fire Fighter’s medical exam and maintain physical fitness

·        Be able to successfully complete the CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test)

·        Have and maintain a valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License as defined in the recruitment application

·        Complete, submit and maintain a successful Police Vulnerable Sector Check

·        Applicants must live within the City of Port Colborne boundary

Tourism Coordinator

The City of Port Colborne is seeking an energetic and motivated Tourism Coordinator who has excellent interpersonal, communication, project management, public relations, tourism marketing, creative and critical thinking skills.

Reporting to the Manager of Strategic Initiatives and working closely with the Economic Development Officer, the Tourism Coordinator will interact with stakeholders to facilitate the development and implementation of innovative strategies and resources that promote the City of Port Colborne as a vibrant tourism destination. You will be responsible for economic development duties as it pertains to the attraction and retention of tourism related companies and special events. The Tourism Coordinator will also provide administrative support to the Niagara South Coast Tourism Association (NSCTA) and be the key point of contact for external agencies assisting the NSCTA with marketing and communication strategies.

You have a minimum of five years’ experience implementing programs and initiatives in tourism and hospitality or a suitable equivalent. Experience in a municipal setting is an asset. You have a post-secondary degree or diploma in Tourism, Hospitality, Economic Development, Marketing or related field of study. You have strong skills in MS Office, website design, and social media platforms. You must have a Class G driver’s license in good standing.    

The salary for this position is currently under review.  The City also offers a competitive pension and benefit package.
