Rink 2 at the Vale Health & Wellness Centre will be welcoming back skaters as of Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020, to permit holders only, to accommodate our user groups, Port Colborne Minor Hockey, and Girls Wave Hockey. All users are to follow the outlined public/user rules and regulations, including wearing a mask/face covering as per the Niagara Region Face Covering By-law. Rink 1 at the Vale Health & Wellness Centre has been open since Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2020, to permit holders only. Rink 1 will continue to follow the same protocols listed above. At this time, to ensure the health and safety of residents, visitors and staff, we will not be hosting public events including public skates.

The walking track will open as of Oct.1, 2020 and will be available Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 - 4 p.m. The walking track will be closed from 12 – 1 p.m. for a daily cleaning. Walkers will be required to wear a face covering and will need to sign-in at the upper level upon arrival. The walking track will be monitored by staff to ensure maximum allowed occupancy.


Effective today, Sept. 30, 2020, the Port Colborne YMCA will move into Phase 1 of their Reactivation Schedule. They will be open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Saturday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. There will be a daily senior hour for individuals 55 years and older, from 1 – 2 p.m. The YMCA will be closed daily from 12 – 1 p.m. and 4 – 5 p.m. for a thorough cleaning. Indoor Zumba classes will run in the Golden Puck Community Room from 7 – 8 p.m. on Monday, and Wednesday evenings from Oct. 19 to Dec. 14, 2020. About the Vale Health & Wellness Centre

The Vale Health & Wellness Centre is a $32 million, state-of-the-art facility for sport, recreation, health, wellness, entertainment, and commerce – all under one roof - the first of its kind in the Niagara region.

The 145,000 square foot venue includes two NHL-sized ice pads, a walking/jogging track for all season use, six outdoor bocce courts and, through partnership with the YMCA, an aquatic centre with lap and leisure pools,a gymnasium and fitness area.

The facility is nestled within the T.A. Lannan Sports Complex located at 550 Elizabeth Street that is home to six soccer fields, three baseball fields, a playground and recreation trails that connect with the Welland Canal Multi-Use Trails. A Subway restaurant  is an additional amenities found within the Centre.
