How to Vote

Bring with you to the poll:

  • your Voter's Card (sent via mail); and

  • identification (1 piece)

Acceptable forms of identification include: Ontario Driver's Licence, Ontario Health Card (photo card only), utility bill, cheque stub. Click here to view the entire list of acceptable identification as prescribed by the Province.


If you don't have a Voter's Card (or forgot it):

Yes, you can still vote, even without a Voter's Card. Ask to speak with the Revision Clerk and inform him or her that you don't have a Voter's Card but would still like to vote. 


If your information is incorrect on your Voter's Card:

If your information is incorrect when you receive your Voter's Card, you are encouraged to attend one of the advanced voting dates and inform the election staff that your card is incorrect. This way the information on your card can be corrected and you can vote at that same time. Be sure to bring the incorrect Voter's Card and one form of identification with you. 


The fastest way to vote:

Make sure you are on the voters list and arrive at the polling station with your Voter's Card and one piece of identification.

Election Day is October 22.

Advanced voting dates are:

  • Wednesday, October 10
  • Saturday, October 13
  • Wednesday, October 17

Proxy Voting

If you are an eligible elector but not able to attend the advance voting days or your voting location on Voting Day, you may appoint another person to vote on your behalf. The person acting as a proxy must also be an eligible elector.
